Deputy Brandon Sikes
Relentless Defender is deeply honored to release this pre-order fundraiser design in memory of Deputy Brandon Sikes, who was tragically shot and killed in the line of duty on April 26, 2025, while attempting to serve a domestic violence protective order.
Deputy Sikes and fellow deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a traffic stop near exit 194 on I-20 when the suspect suddenly opened fire with a 9mm AR pistol. Deputy Sikes was mortally wounded in the ambush, and another deputy was critically injured. Despite the chaos, their fellow deputies heroically returned fire and carried the injured deputy to safety under a hail of gunfire. The suspect was later found deceased with pipe bombs and weapons inside his camper.
A proud U.S. Army veteran and a six-year law enforcement officer, Deputy Sikes served with strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication. He is survived by his wife—who also serves in law enforcement—their daughter, his parents, three brothers, nieces, and a nephew. His legacy of service and sacrifice has left a permanent mark on his agency, his family, and the community he gave his life to protect.
This tribute design was created in collaboration with his co-workers and family to ensure every element reflects his honor, service, and warrior spirit. It stands not just as a memorial, but as a symbol of the courage behind the badge.
