Deputy Perez, a proud member of the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, was tragically killed when he was struck by debris from a passing vehicle during a traffic stop. He was just beginning his journey in law enforcement, but his legacy of service was already long established. Beyond his role as a Deputy, Jessie had also served as a firefighter and EMS—devoting his life to protecting his community in every way possible.
This powerful design features all three symbols representing the services Jessie served with honor: Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS. Displayed with reverence is his End of Watch date—04-22-25—a solemn reminder of the day a community lost a hero far too soon.
