The Deputy Jon Samuelson fundraiser design was created to honor a dedicated law enforcement officer, devoted husband, K9 handler, and community servant whose selfless actions exemplify the very best of public service. This special fundraiser supports Deputy Jon Samuelson as he continues his recovery after being critically injured in the line of duty on May 22, 2026.
This fundraiser design holds special significance because it was entirely created by members of the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, including Deputy Samuelson’s friends, coworkers, and partners. Every detail was chosen to recognize his commitment to protecting others, his role as a respected deputy, and the bond he shares with his K9 partner, Bosco.
Deputy Samuelson, a respected veteran of the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office for more than 12 years, was on his way to a training session when he stopped to assist a stranded motorist with a disabled vehicle. After providing the individual a ride to a local hospital, Deputy Samuelson later learned the same subject was potentially connected to an armed carjacking. Returning to the hospital to help monitor the situation, Samuelson once again placed the safety of others before his own. When an altercation unfolded, he acted without hesitation to protect hospital staff and was shot multiple times in the process.
Throughout his career, Jon has earned the respect of fellow deputies and community members through his integrity, professionalism, and unwavering kindness. Following in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather, he dedicated his life to serving La Porte County and helping those in need. The same compassion that has defined his career is what led him to stop and help a stranger that day.
Today, Jon faces a long road to recovery, but his resilience and determination continue to inspire everyone around him. By purchasing this fundraiser design, you are directly supporting Deputy Samuelson and his family during this challenging time.
100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated directly to support the Samuelson family through the Relentless Defender Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, making all donations tax deductible.
