Firefighter Eric Handlin
The Firefighter Eric Handlin Memorial Fundraiser Shirt was created to honor the life, service, and legacy of Firefighter Eric Handlin, a dedicated firefighter who faithfully served his community for 25 years.
On August 21, 2026, Firefighter Handlin suffered a sudden medical emergency while at the firehouse and was found unconscious by members of his crew. His fellow firefighters immediately came to his aid, and he was transported to the hospital for treatment. After fighting for two weeks, Eric sadly passed away on September 4, 2026.
Just weeks before his medical emergency, on July 2, Eric had reached an incredible milestone: 25 years of service with OFR. His decades of dedication represent a life committed to the fire service, his fellow firefighters, and the community he proudly served.
Beyond the firehouse, Eric was a loving father of five children. His family, his crew, and the relationships he built throughout his years of service are an important part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Created with input from Eric’s family, this memorial design was made to reflect both the firefighter and the man they knew and loved. The shirt features custom hand-drawn artwork incorporating a skull and roses, inspired by Eric’s love for skulls and his favorite color, red. His bunker number, 44, is incorporated into the artwork alongside firefighter elements and his Last Alarm of September 4, 2026, creating a deeply personal tribute to his life and career.
This is a Pre-Sale fundraiser that will end on September 30th and begin to ship out October 1st.
100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated directly to Firefighter Eric Handlin’s family through the Relentless Defender Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, making all donations tax deductible.
